The IESF, the international federation of eSports, in a press release announced that eFootball PES Series will be at the 13th Esports World Championship.
PES is the third eSports announced after DOTA2 and CS: GO which were announced months ago in the Esports World Championship. PES had been present in both the 11th and 12th edition of the championships. “With its long history of international appeal, eFootball is a natural choice for international sports competitions. The game will be played on Playstation®4 during the IESF competition “reads the IESF press release.

The event will take place in two phases, the first, online, where the regional qualifiers will be played. This competition will take place in September and October of this year. The qualified teams will then play the final in November in Israel, on site.
PES confirms that it is increasingly oriented towards eSports more than FIFA, the direct competitor. The fact, for example, that this year, instead of a new game, only a “season update” has been released is to be read in this direction. Konami hopes to become the number 1 football game for eSports and the fact that it is now in its third participation in the Esports World Championship is certainly an excellent result that confirms the direction of the game.
It should also be said that the problems of FIFA made eSports events very complicated while on PES there were no problems due to the fact that a new version of the game was not released.
