One of the most interesting matches of the Overwatch League this week is certainly the one between Florida Mayhem vs Houston Outlaws. Two teams fighting for the playoffs in the West, two teams with great potential.
Florida Mayhem
Florida has changed a lot this offseason by letting 5 players leave. The squad, however, remained at a very high level and the start of the season confirmed this. Florida Mayhem ended week 1 with 2 wins. After resting in week 2 Florida took home the May Melee qualification with 4 wins and one defeat at the hands of San Francisco Shock. Florida Mayhem had landed a pass to the playoffs and number 1 seeded in the West.
Here came the twist, Florida Mayhem lost on his debut against Shanghai Dragon ending up in the losing bracket. The team showed in the playoffs that they were not very organized and that they were unable to take advantage of the chances at the beginning of the match. After beating Chengdu Hunters Florida was again defeated by the Shanghai Dragon saying goodbye to May Melee.

In June Joust they will want to show that they have learned from mistakes.
Houston Outlaws
Another team that did very well at the start of the season are the Houston Outlaws. The Texan team has filed 4 consecutive victories thus reaching the playoffs. Here, however, they were surprisingly eliminated by Dallas Fuel.
Now in June Joust the question is how they will do it. The calendar is quite complicated. As demonstrated by the match against Florida Mayhem. Houston must prove that he learned from his bad defeat against Dallas. Florida has weaknesses, will Houston be able to exploit them? Closing Week 1 with 2 wins would be an important result not only in terms of ranking but also for morale.

Florida Mayhem vs Houston Outlaws is a very interesting and balanced match. Florida are a stronger side but Houston could use the experience of Jae-won “Junkbuck” Choi to find the winning tactic. Our prediction sees Florida favored but not by much.
