DWG KIA
DWG KIA is a Korean League of Legends team, formerly known as DAMWON Gaming. We are talking about one of the strongest teams in the world. DWG KIA has enrolled in the LCK the Korean League of Legends, one of the toughest leagues in the world. In 2020 DWG didn’t start very well and finished fourth at the LCK Spring 2021. But last year that position was enough to qualify for the Mid-Season Invitational.
Even them DAMWON closes in 5th place without too much impact. From that moment, however, things have changed. In the LCK Summer Split DWG absolutely dominated the tournament losing just two games to DRX and Gen G in the first round robin. In the second, DWG almost slipped 9 consecutive victories, losing only 1 match.
In the final DWG dominated DRX closing with a clear 3-0. In the Worlds DWG he dominated the tournament by beating the surprise Suning Gaming 3-1 in the final. DWG KIA also won the KeSPA Cup 2020. In 2021 things have not changed, DWG KIA won the LCK SPRING 2021 with great authority, first closing the group in first place and then beating rivals Gen G in the final. qualifying for the 2021 Mid-Season Invitational.
As expected DWG ended the group in first place but lost a game. In the second round, DWG finished in first place again with 8 wins and 2 losses, a result that was a bit surprising.
MAD LIONS
MAD Lions is a Spanish team that was founded in August 2017. In 2020 the team was admitted to the LEC while a second team plays in the Spanish league. In the LEC 2020 Spring they closed the regular season in fourth place, qualifying for the playoffs where they lost to G2.
In the LEC Summer 2020 things went better as they even finished second in the group with 12 wins and 6 defeats but in the playoffs they were immediately eliminated by Rogue with a clear 3-0.
The team has changed in 2021, new players have arrived and the changes have been positive. In LEC Spring 2021 MAD Lions finished in third place with 10 wins and 8 losses, but it is in the playoffs that the team exalted by going to win the LEC Spring 2021 by beating Rogue in the final 3-2 and thus obtaining the qualification for the Mid-season Invitational.
Here the Spanish team aimed to finish in the top four. In Group B, MAD Lions finished in first place with 5 wins and 1 loss. In the second round, things didn’t go very well. In fact, MAD Lions finished fourth with 5 wins and 5 losses. The biggest surprise was seeing MAD Lions finished fourth behind PSG Talon, no-one saw that coming.
Now MAD Lions must face DWG KIA a game very hard to win.
Who will win
The challenge is certainly interesting. DWG is still considered the strongest team in the world, but in the MId-Season Invitational, it got caught out by weaker teams. They can’t afford distractions in this game. MAD Lions in the second round defeated Royal Never Give UP but lost to DWG. Who will win this match? In our opinion, DWG KIA is the favorite and should win this match.
